Editorial policy

Stellar Community News aims to make astronomy and skywatching clear, careful and enjoyable to explore. We distinguish established explanations from uncertainty, and correct meaningful errors openly.

Accuracy and clarity

We check factual statements against suitable, identifiable sources before publication and write so readers can tell what is observation, explanation or interpretation. Where visibility depends on location, season or conditions, we say so rather than implying that one account applies everywhere.

Independence

Editorial choices are made for relevance to readers, not to promise favourable coverage. We do not present opinion as established fact, and we revise material when a reliable correction or important context changes what a reader should understand.

Corrections

Readers can report a possible error through the Contact page. We review the specific passage, make a correction when warranted and clarify material changes in the article; a correction is not a substitute for explaining what changed.

Partnerships and illustrations

Paid or partner-supported material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial coverage. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where that applies, we identify them as such and do not present an illustration as an observational record.

Our outlook

Wonder grows when we look together

The sky belongs to no single expert or observer. We value clear explanations, patient looking and the different perspectives people bring to a shared view.
